![]() Just when I thought tweeting couldn't get any sweeter, now it's going to give back, one cup of coffee at a time. Twitter and Starbucks announced a partnership Monday which allows customers to exchange e-gift certificates by tweeting. Ironically called “tweet-a-coffee,” Starbucks hopes to use the program to capitalize on spontaneous acts of caffeinated generosity among friends. All you have to do is tweet “@tweetacoffee to” and write in the handle of the recipient. Initially eGifts will only come in $5 denominations and can be redeemed by printing out the eGift or loading it to a Starbucks digital card.
Monday afternoon, my friend @JohnParie tweeted me a cup of coffee and yes, I plan on going immediately to redeem it. It's a small act of kindness like this that will change the way we use social media for good. Check out the video below and then go ahead and spare $5 to put a smile on one of your followers or friends face when they receive a tweet that they received a free cup of coffee. |
