MEMPHIS, TN. Volunteer Mid-South (VMS) is pleased to announce that Executive Director Mark Dean is a newly appointed member of the Points of Light Corporate Institute’s Leadership Faculty. Dean has been the Executive Director of Volunteer Mid-South since 2004. Points of Light Corporate Institute’s Leadership Faculty is comprised of experts from the corporate and nonprofit community who are committed to sharing their expertise in areas including global programming, recognition, skills-based volunteering, and volunteer programming. The Corporate Institute will collaborate with the Leadership Faculty to develop resources for companies who are looking to create, grow or improve their community engagement programs. The group’s goal is to broaden the knowledge base and shape the future of corporate volunteer engagement in the 21st century. Leadership Faculty members provide Points of Light’s business members and the broader corporate community with innovative resources, including webinars and blogs, that aid in growth or improvement to their community engagement programs. The Leadership Faculty began in the fall of 2012 and members’ terms run for one year or more. Volunteer Mid-South is at the heart of volunteering, building capacity for effective volunteering and connecting people with opportunities to serve throughout Memphis and Shelby County. The organization’s mission is to develop, promote and support volunteerism. They work with nonprofits, churches, schools, corporations and other groups to engage volunteers and make community programs stronger.
